Calidad Turística Hoy

Durante 15 años en España se han organizado tres encuentros nacionales de Calidad Turística. Tenerife, Madrid y Santiago fueron las ciudades elegidas para debatir sobre un concepto: “La Calidad Turística” que en las fechas de celebración de esos encuentros era aún incipiente.

Durante 2010 celebramos los 10 años de la fusión de antiguos institutos de calidad en el sector turístico que dieron paso a la creación el 14 de Abril del año 2000 del Instituto para la Calidad Turística Española, entidad que engloba actualmente a 12 asociaciones nacionales, al Ministerio de Industria, Turismo y Comercio, a la FEMP y a las CCAA.

Recientemente se han cumplido también diez años desde que los primeros establecimientos del sector consiguieran las primeras certificaciones con la “Q de Calidad Turística” y el Instituto para la Calidad Turística Española (ICTE), como organismo certificador de la Marca “Q” y gestor del Sistema de Calidad Turística Española (SCTE) en sectores, ha creído conveniente organizar el I Congreso Internacional de Calidad Turística para poner en común las experiencias, nacionales e internacionales, y las expectativas de futuro de un sistema plenamente consolidado.

Más de dos mil quinientos establecimientos certificados en España con la Marca “Q”, una veintena de Normas públicas de calidad sectoriales certificadas por el ICTE, siete grupos de trabajo internacionales, en el seno de ISO, liderados o en cuyo desarrollo trabaja activamente España a través del instituto, un consenso unánime de todas las administraciones, tanto central como autonómicas y locales, en torno a la “Q”, como elemento diferenciador y riguroso para la Calidad de los servicios turísticos españoles. Todo ello nos ha permitido impulsar la celebración de este I Congreso Internacional de Calidad Turística.

I International Congress on Tourist Quality

In the last 15 years, three national gatherings on Tourist Quality have been organised in Spain. Tenerife, Madrid and Santiago were the cities chosen to discuss the concept: “Tourist Quality” which was still incipient when these gatherings took place.

During 2010 we celebrated the 10th anniversary of the merger of the former quality institutes in the tourist field that led to the creation of the Institute for Spanish Quality Tourism on April 14th 2000, organisation that currently includes 12 national associations, the Spanish Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Trade, the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces and the Regional Governments in Spain.

It recently became ten years since the first establishments achieved the “Q” Tourist Quality certification. The Institute for Spanish Quality Tourism, as a certification entity issuing the “Q” Mark and manager of the Spanish Tourist Quality System in different tourist sectors, has considered it convenient to organise the I International Congress on Tourist Quality in order to share national and international experiences and the future expectations of a fully consolidated system.

Over two thousand five hundred establishments have been certified in Spain with the “Q” mark, ICTE has issued certificates against more than twenty public quality standards for different sectors, seven international working groups at ISO level are led or developed by Spain through this Institute, and the “Q” has received the unanimous consensus of the central, regional and local administrations as a distinguishing and rigorous element in terms of quality of the Spanish tourist services. The abovementioned has enabled us to promote the organisation of the I International Congress on Tourist Quality.
